How our information works

See where every important fact came from

We label public records, provider-published information, map data, and third-party estimates separately. You should not have to guess what is official.

Which sources come first?

  1. Public records establish credentials and official status.
  2. Provider-owned sources supply official contact details, services, and General Price Lists.
  3. Permitted secondary directories fill gaps and remain clearly labeled as unverified.
  4. Archived Ever Loved profiles can add a historical provider website, contact detail, or third-party estimate when we can match the record confidently.
  5. Open map data supports discovery and location checks.

How are prices labeled?

Provider-published price lists, third-party GPL-based observations, and third-party estimates are never presented as equivalent. Each displayed amount includes its basis and source date. Ever Loved national averages are excluded from provider profiles.

How are provider websites checked?

We audit every directory listing for a provider-owned website, then compare identifying signals such as the business name, phone number, address, city, and ZIP code before publishing it. Service categories and pricing links are shown only with a link back to the provider page where they appeared and the date checked. We respect website access rules, do not bypass blocked pages, and leave uncertain matches unpublished for review.

How are results ordered?

Current funeral-home results are filtered by an exact North Carolina city or ZIP code and ordered alphabetically. Payment does not change organic ranking.

How can information be corrected?

Providers and the public can report incorrect information. Changes to high-impact facts require supporting evidence and review.
